TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SALE

We at Arvoreen Kennels believe that purchasing a puppy is a big commitment. It is in fact, a lifetime commitment. Our interest in the puppy doesn't stop when it leaves our care, far from it. Each puppy that leaves our kennels is considered a never-ending responsibility. With this in mind, we will only sell a puppy to a person that will agree to the following terms and conditions:

1.

If the dog cannot be kept - for any reason - at any time during its life, it is returned to us at Arvoreen for re-homing. If you have another home in mind for the dog, you are required to advise us prior to re-homing, as we need to be sure that the new home is suitable. We also like to keep a track on where our dogs are and of their well being in general.

2.

The dog must receive all required vaccinations, periodic worming, heart worming, constant Flea and Tick treatment and any other treatment your veterinarian advises to keep your dog in top physical and mental condition. The dog must receive any necessary veterinary treatment, whether for accident or illness, routine or emergency. Be safe, not sorry.

3.

You must advise us of any condition that arises that affect the dog's health. This is very important, as we are always concerned about the risk of any hereditary problems that may occur. The only way for us to minimise this risk is with your help.

4.

If you are buying the dog for show or breeding, you must agree to have its hips scored before the age of two. Also remember, we guarantee our puppies to be free of any serious hereditary problems, this includes hip dysplasia. Please contact us if your dog generates any hereditary problems - it is important for us to know this for our breeding program. We also advise that you have CEA (Collie Eye Anomaly) exams performed again when the dog reaches 5 years. Speak to your vet regarding this.

5.

If your puppy is purchased for a pet or companion, it must be sprayed or neutered before the age of one. Additionally, your puppy will be registered on the ACT Canine Association Limited Register. This registration is your guarantee of a pedigree dog however, the dog may not be shown or bred from. Should you wish to exhibit or breed from the dog, you will contact the breeder to discuss.

6.

Because the Border Collie is a Working Dog, we strongly encourage you to undertake a course in basic obedience. REMEMBER that a Border Collie is a very intelligent animal, if not continually challenged, it will become bored and destructive.

7.

By becoming involved in a Border Collie Club in your area, you will have the chance to talk to people and be kept up-to-date with information about this wonderful breed. Meeting other people who own Border Collies can lead to new friendships and lots of good times for you and you new companion.

8.

All buyers must sign this purchase agreement (contract) prior to the puppy's release and prior to the release of the puppy's registration papers.

Any puppy bred by Charlene and Stuart Leetham will have the prefix Arvoreen. The Arvoreen prefix is registered and recognised by the ACT Canine Association and governing bodies.

9.

Arrangements will be made for the dog to be cared for (either friend, neighbour or by placing the dog in a boarding facility) when you go away and the dog cannot accompany you.

10.

The puppy will be raised with love and affection, as a valued member of your family.

We at Arvoreen Kennels believe that every puppy born under our prefix is special and deserving of the very best start to life that we can provide. Therefore, we agree to the following:

1.

All dogs living at Arvoreen Kennels receive the utmost care and devotion at all times.

2.

All puppies whelped at Arvoreen Kennels will receive all vaccinations, worming treatments and veterinary attention up until the day they leave our care.

3.

All puppies shall have extensive socialisation with other animals, humans etc before leaving our kennels.

4.

We promise to maintain an interest in the well being of the dog once it leaves our care. Please remember that we would love the occasional visit and/or photo of your puppy.

5.

We promise to be of assistance to you regarding the well being of the dog at any stage during its life. No enquiry is too small or too large where our dogs are concerned.

6.

The puppy will remain in our care until it has reached the age of at least 8 weeks. Only after this age will we release a puppy into the care of its new owners.

7.

We will not make a decision about ownership of any of the litter until they reach the age of between 6 to 8 weeks. This is the earliest stage that we can assess puppies for show quality and pet quality.

Before the age of 6 to 8 weeks, we can only advise on availability of a particular sex.

8.

The cost of the puppy shall be $...... This will include all veterinary care, microchipping, registration and feeding etc whilst in our care.

9.

When the puppy is released into your care, we will provide you with an information pack advising you of diet, health care, information on hereditary diseases that affect the breed and background information.

If you have any questions regarding these Terms and Conditions, please do not hesitate to discuss them with us. Please understand we maintain these strict Terms and Conditions with our dogs' best interests at heart.
